Two stroke road bikes are a thing of the past, at least here in the states. It’s a shame, considering how unique they are to ride and work on. However, the absolute fandom surrounding two strokes is definitely alive and well in this country, as seen by a recent event at Deus Ex Machina in Venice, CA.

Dubbed “Ring A Ding Ding,” the two-stroke festival invited any and all two-strokers to invade the parking lot of the former flower shop to celebrate these quirky machines. All kinds of bikes showed up, from vintage Bultacos and Italjets, to (relatively) modern Aprilias, Hondas, Kawasakis and Yamahas. There were even a few Vespas. The variety of bikes was amazing, but the sound they produced made this otherwise idle parking lot sound like an angry swarm of killer bees!

My words don’t do these bikes, their sound, or these pictures justice. Check out the full gallery of pictures at the Deus Ex Machina website, and watch the video below to hear these bikes in all their glory. Do you have a cool two-stroke?
