Batman's Batpod Is Real!

Any fan of the latest series of Batman movies will recognize the two-wheeler above. Straight from The Dark Knight Rises comes the Batpod, Batman’s crime fighting motorcycle. Ok, well, not quite.

This Batpod replica comes to us from Vietnam, where we presume the man riding the bike is also its builder. Details are scarce at the moment, but judging from the video we can see it’s powered by a small-displacement Suzuki engine, features Bimota Tesi 3D-like hub-center steering, flat black paint, car tires and wheels with brake rotors mounted to the face of the wheels (with two front calipers!). The coolest bit of all, we think, is the fake, exhaust-driven, gatling gun!

Sure this bike is impractical in so many ways, but who cares?! Right now, every guy’s inner teenager is dying to take this thing for a spin through Gotham City and hunt down Bane in the process. As cool as the Batpod is, we can’t help but overlook this guy’s crime fighting apparel. We’re pretty sure Batman doesn’t do his dirty work in flip-flops. Anyway, check out the real life Batpod in action below.

Troy's been riding motorcycles and writing about them since 2006, getting his start at Rider Magazine. From there, he moved to Sport Rider Magazine before finally landing at Motorcycle.com in 2011. A lifelong gearhead who didn't fully immerse himself in motorcycles until his teenage years, Troy's interests have always been in technology, performance, and going fast. Naturally, racing was the perfect avenue to combine all three. Troy has been racing nearly as long as he's been riding and has competed at the AMA national level. He's also won multiple club races throughout the country, culminating in a Utah Sport Bike Association championship in 2011. He has been invited as a guest instructor for the Yamaha Champions Riding School, and when he's not out riding, he's either wrenching on bikes or watching MotoGP.
