Travis Pastrana Featured In NASCAR Commercial
Any motorsports fan should be well familiar with the name Travis Pastrana. His worldwide fame as an action sports star has elevated the status of all the disciplines he’s participated in. But in Pastrana’s latest pursuit, his humility comes through clearly.
Pastrana has dipped his toes in stock car racing the past two years, but for 2013 he’s decided to dedicate himself fulltime to the NASCAR Nationwide series, where he’ll be driving a Ford for Roush Fenway Racing. In this commercial spot for ESPN’s “Names Are Made Here” campaign, Pastrana is shown in action doing a double flip on a motorcycle at the X Games, performing a jump across a body of water in a rally car and leaping from an airplane — without a parachute — before the scene switches to him racing in NASCAR.
“I have 10 world records,” Pastrana says in voiceover. “I have fans all over the world. I even had my own TV show. But here, my name doesn’t mean anything.”
“Not yet.”
The commercial will begin airing across ESPN platforms on March 18 in advance of ESPN’s telecast of the Nationwide Series race at Fontana, Calif., on March 23. Watch the commercial in its entirety below.
