Moto Chaser is a motorcycle game meant just for your iPhone or iPod Touch. It’s easy to find, just visit the App Store and search for ‘Moto Chaser’ and it will come right up.
I’ve long been spoiled by playing video games on the latest and greatest platforms, but Moto Chaser is the first game I’ve ever played on an iPhone. It might not look as great as playing an Xbox 360 game on a 42-inch HD TV, but I can fit an iPhone in my pocket and take it with me wherever I go.
From what I can gather, the goal in Moto Chaser is to rescue a cat that has been kidnapped by some ninja-looking bad guys – they tied it up and everything. I’m not sure why these people want the cat, but I suppose they have their reasons. Still, I’d be a lot more inclined to come to the rescue if it were a dog.
After coming to grips with the fact that I shouldn’t discriminate against the cat, I got started on my rescue mission. It took a little while to get comfortable with the controls – or lack thereof. Moto Chaser utilizes the iPhone’s motion sensitive control so you steer the vehicle by tilting the iPhone to the left or right. Steering is pretty tricky at first and I found myself drifting off the road and into various obstacles, but after a few minutes it gets easier to stay on the tarmac.
You have to press a gas button on the bottom left of the touch screen to get the action started and occasionally you can throw a punch at one of the bad guys by hitting a button on the right side of the screen.. For the most part, though, you are racing against the clock to complete a series of checkpoints on a variety of courses from locations around the globe. Those bad guys will apparently stop at nothing to keep the cat away from you.
Moto Chaser gets a little repetitive after a while and I regret to inform all the cat lovers out there that I didn’t play long enough to finish all the courses and rescue kidnapped feline. However, I am pretty sure I got 99 cents worth of enjoyment out of it.
If Moto Chaser sounds like fun to you or if you just want to rescue the cat that I so cold-heartedly left behind, visit the official site to find out more.
