It’s a new year which means a new season of AMA Supercross action, starting with the 2013 season opener at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif.

The racing begins Saturday, Jan. 5, but Supercross fans can get a jump on the festivities on Friday, Jan. 4, with an autograph signing of 27 top racers including defending champion Ryan Villopoto and perhaps his biggest threat, Ryan Dungey. They will be joined by riders such as James Stewart, Jake Weimer, Davi Millsaps, Josh Hill, Ken Roczen, Justin Brayton and many more from both the Supercross and Supercross Lites classes. The autograph signing will take place Jan. 4 from 6-7 pm PST at Bert’s Mega Mall in Covina, Calif. The “Mega Supercross Event” also features a kids zone, food trucks, a T-shirt giveaway and free energy drinks from Monster Energy, Red Bull and Speed Energy. Continue Reading »

Ryan  Villopoto is eager to repeat his $1 million win in 2011 at the 2012 Monster Energy Cup.

The  Monster Energy Cup returns this Saturday, October 20, for its second year,  providing motocross and supercross pro riders a shot at the $250,000 purse, with the winner walking away with a $100,000 check. However, any rider that wins all three main events will take home an outrageously lucrative $1 million bounty, as Ryan Villopoto did in the inaugural 2011 event.

Villopoto is planning for a back-to-back million-dollar sweep of the Cup, held again this year at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, NV. ”It’s pretty unreal,” said Villopoto last year on winning the $1 million. “I’m happy we were able to pull it off. To back it up in 2012 will be hard, so if we do, it would be great.”  However, Villopoto is confident for the 2012 event, saying earlier this year that he’s ready to repeat. “I want everyone to know I am ready to defend my title.”
