One of the many uses of this space is to highlight odd, strange, or interesting motorcycles that are for sale on the internet – or even to highlight clever for-sale posts of otherwise ordinary motorcycles. Today, I think we've definitely achieved our goals for Friday Forum Foraging. This land speed racer was originally built in New Zealand, where it took multiple top-speed records. It was brought to the US in 2013, where it currently holds a speed record of 188.6 mph. All this from a 1,000cc four-cylinder engine plucked off a 2006 Suzuki GSX-R1000 (granted, with a couple of modifications). Not bad, eh?

French motorcycle manufacturer Voxan recently set no less than eleven world records with its electric land speed racer, the Wattman. The pilot? None other than multi-time world champion Max Biaggi. The world record attempt took place over the three days spanning October 30 – November 1 on the 2.17-mile airstrip at the Châteauroux airfield in France, not far from the team (and Biaggi’s) HQ in Monaco. The team originally aimed at making its run at the Salar de Uyuni salt flats in Bolivia, the largest in the world but, well, coronavirus.

The history of motorcycle engines powering other vehicles goes back a long way. Look at the original Morgan 3 Wheeler, for example. Almost a century ago, J.A.P. bike engines were plunked onto the front of a strange piece of machinery with two wheels in front and one in the back. It proved to be popular and a rather high-performing vehicle in its time. For this Top 10 list we take a look at other applications for motorcycle engines. As you can imagine with a list like this, there are a wide variety of vehicles. Some are production cars, while others are one-offs or boutique items. And yes, even though this is Motorcycle.com, I want to get behind the wheel of every single one of these!
