I’m feeling a little uncomfortable after watching Ducati’s recently posted “Colour Therapy” video.  Are you prepared to watch a Ducati technician strip a Ducati Monster of it’s plastic to reveal it’s true nakedness?  Cover your eyes if you are under 18.

Ducati posted this video on YouTube to promote their “Colour Therapy”.  “Colour Therapy” is there way of customizing the colour of your Ducati Monster motorcycle with an easily interchangeable kit that is available at Ducati dealerships.  I have personally picked out a new colour for the Ducati that I don’t own.

BMW has officially introduced their literbike contender:  The 2009 BMW S1000RR.

The pertinent numbers are a claimed 193 horsepower (at the crankshaft) and a 403.5-lb claimed dry weight. In a ready-to-ride form including fuel, BMW says to expect 450 lbs of weight. Also innovative is the RR’s variable-length intake tracts that work in harmony with a 14,200-rpm redline, the highest among its rivals.

Hit the jump for a crap load of links and resources, pictures and a pretty awesome video montage of the design and build of the bike.

In regards to motorcycles, there are times when retro-inspired modern engineered creations work, like the Triumph Thruxton for instance. Then there are times when they don’t, such as the case with the Confederate B120 Wraith.

An up-and-coming extreme sport or a reckless destructive tendency?

There comes a time in every boys life when he is forced to grow up, leave the foolishness of childhood behind and fully grasp what it is to be a man. All that added responsibility is fine and good but being forced to get rid of the toys is too much! A stressful time in any guys life, it’s the ‘Quarter-life Crisis’ if you will.

Two thoughts come when looking at the above picture:

  1. That is highly irresponsible behavior, the home-owners in the area should be pissed.
  2. That is sooo cool!

Finding a balance between work and play is hard enough without the temptation of Urban Freeride Motorcycles.
