The runaway hit television series about an outlaw biker gang with a heart, Sons of Anarchy, begins its fifth season tonight (Sept. 11) on FX at 10:00 p.m. EST/PST, and will air regularly on Tuesdays at 10:00 p.m.

Judging by the raw, unfettered material in this season’s first episode that premiered at the Westwood Village Theater in Westwood, Calif., this past Saturday evening, Sons of Anarchy (SoA) shows no signs of throttling back its intensity in season five. According to series executive producer/director, Paris Barclay, viewers can expect as much mayhem as ever, with a lot of “character killoffs” this year.

Bartels’ Harley-Davidson, a dealership in Marina Del Rey, Calif., has signed a licensing deal to produce a run of limited edition Harley-Davidson motorcycles inspired by the FX drama “Sons of Anarchy“.

According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Bartels will produce 100 units, each priced at about $25,000. The Sons of Anarchy Harley-Davidson models will go on sale in August when they are revealed at the Sturgis rally in South Dakota.

Stephen King will be making a guest appearance on the hit TV show, Sons of Anarchy, later tonight.  King will play a character named “Bachman”, which I’m sure was no coincidence since he had published under the pen name “Richard Bachman” for several years.

Stephen King is a motorcycle enthusiast and was excited to get a tricked-out, bright red Harley-Davidson Road-Glide to ride for the filming of the episode.  See his comments about the production here.

The cast of the FX drama “Sons of Anarchy” are heading to the Persian Gulf for an eight-day USO/Armed Forced Entertainment tour. This will be the first USO tour for actors Kim Coates, Mark Boone Junior, Theo Rossi and Dayton Callie. The cast mates will spend time with troops, sign autographs and pose for photos.

The show, which chronicles the struggles of an old motorcycle club as it adapts to modern times, has been renewed for a third season.

To ensure security, the specific tour dates and locations have not been released.

SoaintertitleFX has committed to another season of thirteen new episodes bringing back all of the series regulars.  The season finale, that aired on December 1st, drew 4.3 million viewers, the most the show has ever registered, season two enjoyed a 66% increase in total viewers compared to season one.

Kurt Sutter, the creator of the show has signed a two-year extension to write and produce the series, so I guess they are planning ahead to season four as well.

You likely know the name Henry Rollins. What you may not recall initially is exactly where you know him from. Taking over for Dez Cadena as the front man of hardcore 80’s rock band Black Flag, musician turned actor Rollins has been a magazine columnist, radio and television host, started his own record label, won a Grammy for one of his many spoken word albums and been an outspoken activist for gay and human rights. Most recently however, Rollins has been chosen to appear in a recurring role on the second season of FX’s motorcycle drama “Sons of Anarchy”.
