Husqvarna will present its new Nuda 900R and Nuda 900 street bikes at the 2011 EICMA show, but the BMW-owned manufacturer promises to have a surprise in store.

The Husqvarna Nuda 900R already made its public debut in September at the Frankfurt Auto Show, but EICMA will mark the first public appearance of the 900 version.

Both models are powered by 900cc parallel Twin engines derived from BMW’s F800 engine, but the R version will have higher-spec suspension and brakes as well as various carbon fiber bits.

The 2012 Husqvarna Nuda 900R made its public debut in Frankfurt, Germany, in the courtyard outside BMW’s display hall.

Displayed together with other Husqvarna models as well as motorcycles from parent company BMW. The display bikes were all anchored firmly to their stands and test rides were not available but I did get some seat time on the Nuda.

Hopping onto the Nuda 900R’s saddle, I immediately noticed the high seat, a result of Husqvarna’s off-road DNA. I stand six feet tall and had to stretch my toes to touch the ground.

Husqvarna has pulled the wraps off its first streetbike, the new 2012 Husqvarna Nuda 900R.

Named for the Italian word for “naked”, the Husqvarna Nuda 900R is powered by a modified version of the engine from parent company BMW’s 800cc parallel Twin. Husqvarna hasn’t announced specific final numbers yet, but claims the now 900cc powerplant puts out over 100 hp and more than 73.8 ft-lb.

Suspension is comprised by a Sachs 43mm front fork with adjustable compression, preload and rebound, and a fully-adjustable Ohlins rear shock. The braking system uses Brembo radially-mounted four-piston monobloc calipers.

The Nuda’s dry weight is said to be under 386 pounds.
