A year after publicly unveiling its all-new American made sport touring models at Daytona Bike Week, Motus Motorcycles announced production plans and pricing for the 2013 Motus MST and MST-R. Perhaps the biggest news however is Motus has opted to use fuel injection for the MST and MST-R instead of its originally planned gasoline direct injection system.
The motorcycle industry-first implementation of GDI technology was one of the biggest attention-grabbing details about the MST so its exclusion is a bit of a surprise. Even without GDI, the MST’s KMV4 engine is still impressive. Developed by Katech, the 1,650cc 90-degree V4 engine is essentially a four-cylinder version of the Chevrolet Corvette‘s V8 engine. Motus claims an output of 165 hp for the MST and 185 hp for the MST-R.
