Harley-Davidson has opened a new regional headquarters for the Asian market in Singapore.

The new facility will house Harley-Davidson‘s sales, marketing and dealer development operations for its Asia Pacific region. The region office was previously located at Harley-Davidson’s global base in Milwaukee. According to ChannelNewsAsia.com, Harley-Davidson hired 20 employees for the Asia Pacific office with 19 of them locals.

“This office is brick and mortar proof of Harley-Davidson’s commitment to the Asia Pacific region and to introducing the brand’s ideals of individuality and self-expression to more customers here,” said Matt Levatich, President and Chief Operating Officer, Harley Davidson Motor Company during the grand opening ceremony. “We are excited to be opening this new office because now we are in a better position to support the growing number of customers across this region who are eager to take part in the unique Harley-Davidson experience.”

Harley-Davidson sold 20,987 units in the Asia Pacific region in 2010, accounting for 9.4% of the company’s worldwide sales.

Not everyone can pull off a tattoo, I know I can’t.  Or maybe I’m just too scared to ink up my entire arm for the rest of my life, sporting a faded and stretched color blotch when I’m 75 with my grand kids trying to guess what it once was.

Well Harley-Davidson has a solution for me (and maybe you!)

Fake it!

Harley-Davidson’s new clothing line has been designed by “Tattoo Masters” to give you that authentic tattoo look, but on a shirt.

Show your individuality with H-D Ink, a new, limited-edition brand of MotorClothes® apparel. Inked by tattoo masters from around the world and cut from the highest-quality materials, H-D Ink is available exclusively at select H-D dealerships

They’re actually quite fashionable if yer into skulls, eagles, spider webs, and dragons.  I actually think the women’s shirts are way cooler then the men’s.  The prices range from $60 to $95 USD and can’t be bought online so head over to a dealership to pick a few up before they are gone.

See the rest of the post for a fancy H-D commercial and a few pics of their apparel.  Head over to Harley’s site to see the full line. Continue Reading »

In my search through the Motorcycle.com community forums (see the links at the very bottom of this page) to find some handy, insightful and practical tips or projects for readers to check out, I’ve stumbled across a few bizarre things.

I felt I had to post this one.  It is awesome and scary all at the same time.

Blackdog 15 of the harley-davidsonforums.com has posted his method on mounting a sidearm (or two) on his motorcycle.  He admits that he and a buddy had a few drinks to inspire them on how they would attach such instruments of death to their rides.

I guess it’s kind of obvious (and hilarious) that they had a few drinks.

See the rest of the post for some more pics.  Go sign up on harley-davidsonforums.com to give a friendly hello and a pat on the back for a job well done.

Motorcycle.com’s own Kevin Duke recently took a tour of Erik Buell’s “little” garage where Buell motorcycles are dreamed up and created and it looks like a mighty fine place to work!

The Buell factory is a quite small operation but quite technically advanced, using high-tech testing facilities and computer programs to design, build, and test out their bikes.  There’s only 170 people on staff!

Just 170 employees are responsible for the entire operation, and Mr. Buell joked during the tour, “Ducati has more people in their race department than I have in my whole company!”

Holy crap!  I bet all those 170 employees are total gear-heads, dedicated to their work. It also looks like they are hiring!  Harley-Davidson, their major partner/investor, seem to be in charge of the hiring by the looks of it, but I’ve included all the job positions available in Wisconsin, where the Buell factory is located. I’m betting those spots are for Buell.

See the rest of the article for possible job positions at Buell, Motorcycle.com’s video tour of the factory, and head over to their “Buell Factory Tour” written report to get details.

Harley-Davidson is rallying its troops for their second annual H.O.G. Million Mile Monday.  The Million Mile Monday is a day when all Harley-Davidson H.O.G. riders go out and ride, recording how far they rode that day on Harley’s H.O.G. membership site.

The goal last year was to accumulate a million miles from all their rider’s rides put together.  They smashed this goal with 3 million miles!  That’s a lot of road traveled!

The goal this year has been raised to 5 million miles to push Harley members to get out there and ride even more.  Million Mile Monday is on Monday June 29th this year so plan your rides now!

H.O.G. is the “Harley Owners Group” organized by Harley-Davidson themselves.  They organize rides and events, I guess like a social club.  There is a membership cost but I don’t think you need to sign-up for the full membership to record your miles for the Million Mile Monday.

I think you can just create a profile.

If you are interested in becoming a H.O.G. member, head over to the H.O.G. site to learn more.  Check out the rest of the post for HD’s promo video for the Million Mile Monday.

Harley-Davidson has JUST uploaded a new video to YouTube (seriously! It was at 0 views when I got there!).  The video is a behind the scenes look at Harley-Davidson’s photo shoot for an upcoming issue of Vanity Fair.

Watch the behind the scenes footage from Harley-Davidson’s new print campaign in the June Issue of Vanity Fair that salutes women riders and encourages females who have not yet hit the road on two wheels to “experience life with no regrets.” The women featured are health and wellness expert and NBCs The Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels; Grammy®-winning singer-songwriter Jewel; television and film actor Tricia Helfer; and Los Angeles rider/entrepreneur Deborah DiMiceli.

Wow, Jewel is still around?  Let’s not forget that Harley-Davidson has declared May to be Women Riders Month.  Hit the jump to check out the video.
