Most would think a radial airplane engine is best left for airplanes. Frank Ohle is not one of those people. This mad fabricator from Germany found himself in possession of a Rotec Radial R3600 airplane engine and decided the best place for it was not in the sky, but in fact on the ground, in a motorcycle.

The 2010 Sachs MadAss 125 is now available in the U.S. through Peirspeed dealers (owned by Cobra Powersports), demand has remained high since dealers started taking pre-orders a year ago.  Carl Marschütz founded SACHS in 1886 in Germany; today SACHS produces several 50cc to 400cc scooters, motorcycles and mopeds.

The motorcycle weighs in at a lean and mean 209 lbs with the fuel tank contained within the frame and is powered by an air cooled, four-stroke, 124cc engine.  The MadAss 125 rides on low profile tubeless tires with 16″ alloy rims, front and rear disc brakes and mono-shock with adjustable spring pre-load.
