The remake of Nightmare on Elm Street is currently the number one movie in America.  This video clip shows a guy that fuses with his bike, from the fifth installment of the horror series which by then becomes a joke and a far cry from the original movie, especially with all of the cheesy one-liners and terrible effects but at the same time, maybe that’s what gives it its charm.

I do vaguely remember this 1991 musical/romance movie that starred Robert Matthew Van Winkle (aka Vanilla Ice), maybe I just buried it so far back in my subconscious that it just seems like a faded memory.  The movie is loosely based on the classic film Rebel Without a Cause, and I do mean loosely.  Cool as Ice, did win its share of awards and recognition but not of the positive variety.  It received an 8% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, made it to #7 on Blender’s worst performance by a musician turned actor and was nominated seven times at the 12th Golden Raspberry Awards.

Claiming to have raced in professional motocross, Vanilla Ice did all of the motorcycle stunts in the movie, so I guess he deserves some props but that’s hard to do when he proudly admits to coming up with a lot of the one liners, like, “Drop that zero and get with the hero.”

When an actor dies, even if I am not familiar with their work, I always Google them to see what movies or TV shows they were in.  It was no different for David Carradine and after some research I found the movie, DEATHSPORT, it was released in 1978 and not only starred Carradine but also Playboy Playmate Claudia Jennings, Miss November 1969.  There was some controversy during the filming, if your interested.

Anyway, the film takes place in the year 3000 after the great Neutron wars, Death Sport replaces the death penalty where criminals must fight to the death for their freedom, the latest weapon; “destructocycles” are introduced which are essentially dirt bikes with lasers.  Seems like Jesse James may have taken some ideas out of here for his new show…

Check out the cheezy but great trailer after the jump.

The 1968, British film “Girl on a Motorcycle” stared Marianne Faithfull, she was about 20 years old when the movie was shot and I now understand what Mick Jagger saw in her, especially after seeing Faithfull in full leathers riding a bike.  The film was released in the U.S. under the more appropriate title “Naked Under Leather”.  A quick summary; wild girl marries boring guy, girl goes on a motorcycle adventure for excitement, meets bad boy…

Hit the jump for the trailer and some footage from the movie.

Oh, that Batman and his toys, those marvelous toys. Millionaire Bruce Wayne’s alter ego has always had a penchant for accessories. While normally reserved for freeing him and boy wonder from intellectually challenged villains, he has also had his fair share of tricked-out transportation over the years. While drooling over pictures of the Batpod online from the most recent film, Dark Knight, I stumbled upon the original motorcycle ridden by the caped crusaders.
