Today is a rather big day for Zero Motorcycles, as the company has signed its first East Asian distributor, Yuen Ho Trading Company, Ltd. (YHT), based in Hong Kong. To celebrate, the Hong Kong government has purchased 59 MY 2012 Zero S models, the single largest sale for Zero to date.

Daytona International Speedway played host to the TTXGP World Final, where TTXGP competitors from its three regions — Australia, Europe and North America — would battle it out for top honors. This marked the first time in the famed speedway’s history it has ever hosted an electric motorcycle race of any kind, making the event a truly historic moment. Zero Motorcycles is launching what it calls a new “awareness program,” albeit a naturally self-serving program, titled, Ride a Zero Motorcycle – Join the Silent Revolution Demo Day.
On Saturday, May 19, Zero dealers across the U.S. will offer free demonstration rides for qualified, licensed motorcycle riders, along with providing product overviews of Zero Motorcycles’ entire lineup.

The Isle of Man TT press office today announced a total of 18 entrants in the 2012 SES TT Zero electric motorcycle race — a record number of riders according to the IoM TT website.
Eighteen is a record number of entries, at least for TT Zero it’s a record, but more have entered in a previous race as you’ll read below.
Honda is set to unveil seven electric-powered concept vehicles at the upcoming 42nd Tokyo Motor Show, including a sportbike that has piqued our interest.
According to Honda, the RC-E concept is a version of a sportbike that “pursues the joy of riding.” Honda says the RC-E will offer a powerful and smooth ride unique to an EV model and features a 250cc-class compact body. We’ll provide more details of the RC-E concept as they become available.
