Brammo has received approval from the civic planning commission of Ashland, Ore., for its plans to build two new buildings and a private dirt test track. Brammo will now begin seeking a builder and securing funding for construction. The new site should be operating within a year.

The new site could potentially replace Brammo‘s existing headquarters, also located in Ashland. The buildings will house Brammo’s research, design, warehousing and manufacturing offices. Brammo also plans to build future prototypes at the new location.

The expansion will also see Brammo’s local workforce grow to 200-250 employees from the current staff of 40. Brammo says it intends to hire about 20% of the new workers locally.

Quantyaparx has a network of off-road riding parks around Europe reserved exclusively for electric vehicles. Customers can rent and ride electric off-road motorcycles at these riding centers which, because of the lack of noise and air pollution from electric vehicles, can be located near urban and rural areas.

As its name implies, Quantyaparx was associated with Swiss electric motorcycle maker Quantya, but with the acquisition, the company will now use Brammo‘s products, namely the six-speed electric Engage (pictured above)  and Encite motorcycles.

Production of Brammo electric motorcycles is now underway in a facility in Sárvár, Hungary.

The facility will produce about 660 units a month. The facility will initially be used to produce the Brammo Enertia and Enertia Plus for North America, Europe and Asia.

“Now that our new facility has begun production, we have a significant number of customer and fleet orders that we will be fulfilling this year,” says Craig Bramscher, founder and CEO of Brammo. “It’s been a very satisfying year with customer orders, new dealers and now production all gaining momentum much faster than anticipated.”

The Sárvár facility is operated by electronics manufacturing provider Flextronics. Brammo announced a partnership with Flextronics in September 2010 to increase the company’s production capabilities to a global scale.
