The 9th Quail Motorcycle Gathering took place last weekend, and I was finally lucky enough to attend for the first time. Despite the cold weather, the event more than lived up to my hopes, even if I only had two hours to wade through 350 motorcycles. BSA Purchased By Mahindra

One of the most storied names in motorcycling, BSA, has been purchased by Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., the Indian automotive conglomerate that’s one of the biggest of its kind in the world. Mahindra purchased all 120,000 shares of the company at $34.63 per share, equalling roughly $4.2 million USD. Mahindra subsidiary Classic Legends (CLPL) acquired the brand, giving Mahindra full licensing rights and the rights to sell, market, and distribute BSA motorcycles on a global scale.

36th-Annual Hansen Dam Rally Report

Snortin’ Nortons, Trumpeting Tritons, Beastly BSAs, Invincible Vincents … they all rallied to the 36th running of the iconic Hansen Dam Motorcycle Rally. For 2015, the rally broke all its previous records by the sheer number of bikes and people in attendance, spilling into virtual overflow capacity at the popular recreational area. Major gearhead himself, Jay Leno, rumbled in to enjoy the event aboard a major piece of motorcycling history; a well-ridden Brough Superior SS100.

Hansen Dam Rally Report - Calling All Brits!

The Hansen Dam Rally, officially known as the All British Hansen Dam Ride, is a SoCal tradition decades in the making and hosted the first week of every November by the Southern California Norton Owners Club (SCNOC). The  day-long event includes a 95-mile loop through the canyons of the western San Gabriel Mountains and culminates in a bike show at the Hansen Dam Recreational area located in the northeastern San Fernando Valley, some 20 miles from downtown Los Angeles.
