AMA Pro Racing has signed an agreement with CBS Sports Network to air the National Guard Superbike and GoPro Daytona Sportbike classes through the 2014 season. CBS Sports Network’s AMA coverage will begin June 1 at 2:30 pm ET with a 30-minute preview followed immediately by live flag-to-flag coverage of the Subway Superbike Doubleheader at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis.

CBS Sports Network has yet to release a full broadcast schedule, but AMA Pro Racing says events will be initially presented on weekend afternoons with several events airing live. The 30-minute weekly preview show will include coverage of qualifying sessions and highlights from previous rounds as well as vignettes about motorcycle racing and the history of the sport.

Today, AMA Pro Racing officials announced an open request for proposals from ECU manufacturers interested in supplying a standard ECU for the American Superbike class, starting 2014. The manufacturer would also have the opportunity to become an official partner of AMA Pro Racing. Josh Hayes will make his MotoGP racing debut at the Nov. 6 Valencia Grand Prix in Spain as an injury replacement for fellow American Colin Edwards.

Already set to test the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 M1 after the season-ending race, Hayes was a logical choice to ride in Edwards’ place. Edwards will be sidelined with injuries sustained in the crash at the Sepang round that claimed Marco Simoncelli’s life.

A Feb. 2 report from Roadracingworld.com states that American Honda has found Neil Hodgson a place to race in the 2009 AMA American Superbike Championship. This new place should feel a lot like his former American Honda home.
