Equipped with a cell phone and about $1,600 invested in a motorcycle engine and some other spare parts, Wu Zhongyuan, a 20 year old in China has built a helicopter that can climb 2,600 feet in the air.  Zhongyuan, claims he learned everything he needed to know via the Internet (though his cell) and by recalling his physics lessons in middle school but the Chinese government has grounded him for safety issues, you have to love this guy’s ingenuity!

Since Picture of the Week had begun it’s unplanned hiatus several months ago, we haven’t thought much about restarting the feature. Nor have we had the time to – it’s been busy here at Motorcycle.com. However, when Pete Brissette asked us about the POW! for his latest review, we couldn’t refuse. These photos are too damn nice!

Seen in this Photo: Pete Brissette beams past complex industrial landscape on a picturesque early-summer day. Fading into the distance behind him are large raw immobile structures. Structures which contrast the tuned, polished and peppy café racer that Pete guides easily through the terrain. Looks like fun!

It’s not often that Picture of the Week gets to be dirty. This week we are happy to highlight a Motorcycle.com review from earlier in the year. The 2008 Yamaha XT660Z Tenere was put through the paces by Tor Sagen. Of course, all the bumpy action across hard-pack soil of Morocco was caught for us by Dentsu Live. In a recent Motorcycle.com Review, Tor Sagen took to Circuito de Cartagena [map] race-track on the 2009 Triumph Daytona 675. Photog’s Jason Critchell and Paul Barshon caught the action as Tor rocketed the machine around 3.506 km (2.179* Miles) of track. Luckily for us, some awesome shots were caught in the process. Scooter excitement hit an all-time high this summer as two and four wheeled commuters alike looked for an economical ride. Gas sipping scoots’ seemed quench the expensive petrol thirst for many forced to fend-off their rising budgets. Luckily for us, Steve Guzman was there to get the low-down on the scooter market. Maybe it’s the euro origins of the company, their exemplary branding and strong corporate identity or the fact that nobody can pronounce the names KTM stands for – Kraftfahrzeuge Trunkenpolz Mattighofen, originally and then Kronreif & Trunkenpolz Mattighofen.
