One of the film’s main objective was to expose violence and racism in the U.S. in a negative light but instead it seems that it was taken the wrong way with most, glorifying the lifestyle that was portrayed in the film.

In the end of the film, Wyatt tells his buddy Billy, “We blew it.”, which has been translated many different ways over the years but Fonda, the co-writer and producer of the film, makes it clear in his phone interview with Reuters.

People often ask me, ‘Do I still feel the movie is relevant?’  And my answer to them is, when … I say, ‘We blew it,’ if you look out the window today and you say we haven’t blown it, (then) I don’t want to take whatever drug you’re on,” states Fonda.

Easy Rider was included in the U.S. National Film Registry in 1998, and was ranked at #84 on the greatest movies of all time list by the American Film Institute.

The outfit will be auctioned on October 9th, bids are being taken online at icollector.com, if your interested it will cost you at least $3,500, the current bid is $3,250 but its expected to sell for about $5,000.

Bleu and some of his co-stars were on hand at a Kawasaki event at Piru Motocross Park in Piru, California to promote the film and the actor/singer took to the track. Bleu got geared up and took a KLX110 and a KLX140 around the track to have a little fun.

We can’t vouch for the quality of the motocross scenes in the film or Bleu’s riding ability, but Free Style appears to be aimed directly at the young entertainer’s fan base of not quite teenage girls who would like nothing more than to see him find love and win races.

James Cameron, the genius behind such movies as Aliens, Terminator 1 and 2, True Lies, and The Abyss, has a new movie coming out this fall.

“Avatar”, a sci-fi action movie, stars Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Giovanni Ribisi, Stephen Lang and Michelle Rodriguez, all of whom can be seen in the new pictures released yesterday by the studio.

In one of the images we see Sam Worthington wearing a Harley-Davidson shirt and sitting in a bar.  Is this the story of an average tough guy who rides motorcycles and plays pool in bars, turned action hero who saves mankind?  Does Sam’s character, “Jake Sully”, ever get on a motorcycle in the movie or just shows his Harley support by wearing the T-shirt?

Are motorcycles (especially Harley-Davidson motorcycles) an instant “this guy is a badass” tool/cheat used by movie directors/producers/writers to quickly paint a picture of their character as a tough guy?

Yes, and they’ve been doing this for a long time.

The story’s protagonist, Jake Sully, is a former Marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth. In order to participate in the Avatar program, which will give him a healthy body, Jake agrees to travel to Pandora, a lush rainforest environment filled with incredible life forms – some beautiful, many terrifying. Pandora is also the home to the Na’vi, a humanoid race that lives at what humans would consider to be a primitive level, but are actually much more evolutionarily advanced than humans. Ten feet tall, with tails and blue skin that sparkles, the Na’vi live harmoniously within their unspoiled world. But as humans encroach on Pandora in search of valuable minerals, the Na’vi’s very existence is threatened – and their warrior abilities unleashed.

Jake has unwittingly been recruited to become part of this encroachment. Since humans are unable to breathe the air on Pandora, they have created genetically-bred human-Na’vi hybrids known as Avatars. The Avatars are living, breathing bodies in the real world, controlled by a human driver through a technology that links the driver’s mind to the Avatar body. On Pandora, through his Avatar body, Jake can be whole once again. Moreover, he falls in love with a young Na’vi woman, Neytiri, whose beauty is matched by her ferocity in battle.

As Jake slides deeper into becoming one of her clan, he finds himself caught between the military-industrial forces of Earth, and the Na’vi – forcing him to choose sides in an epic battle that will decide the fate of an entire world.

Comic-Con has just finished up and tons of fun, geeky and crazy things have been announced.

A long long time ago we posted a very crappy version of the Tron 2 trailer that I believe was played at last year’s Comic-Con.  Well it’s officially been released to the public, and it looks pretty slick in glorious HD.

The new light cycles look and act amazing.  Kudos to Disney for keeping the same style of the bike but updating them for the modern audience.

The movie comes out in 2010 and on IMAX screens in 3D! Jeff Bridges is still the star and will probably kick ass.

Love Batman?  I mean, REALLY love batman?  Love Batman enough that you dress up like him even when it’s not Halloween?

Hey, me too!  Now you can look like Batman even while riding your motorcycle and be fully protected from the elements (and maybe falls).

It was going to happen sooner or later.  With Batman’s latest movie, The Dark Knight, featuring Batman on his Bat-cycle (or “Batpod”), you knew there had to be some motorcycle-batman crossover paraphernalia.  Actually I’m quite shocked this wasn’t out sooner.

Universal Designs are making officially licensed Batman: The Dark Knight motorcycle jackets, pants, gloves and boots that replicate what Bruce Wayne wore while chasing down that pesky Joker.  And it looks to be the real deal, with removable CE approved armor in the jacket and pants so it’s not just some fancy costume!

There’s no indication of price or when these products will actually come out.  Hopefully I can convince the editors at Motorcycle.com to try them out (mainly just to try and embarrass them).

Claiming to have raced in professional motocross, Vanilla Ice did all of the motorcycle stunts in the movie, so I guess he deserves some props but that’s hard to do when he proudly admits to coming up with a lot of the one liners, like, “Drop that zero and get with the hero.”

Honda have been releasing video documentaries on… well… everything!  Why?  Well to toot their own horn and remind you that Honda is crazy cool.

Actually, their videos aren’t that bad, although somewhat dramatic.  I hunkered down and watched their “Failure: The Secret to Success” video and it held my attention.

Their new video is titled “Dreams vs Nightmares”, which features a few notable people such as Clive Barker and Deepak Chopra.  I’m curious to see how they take this theme and use it to show how and why Honda creates and designs the products they make.

Interesting.
