Last fall, Suzuki introduced a new tourer called the C90T B.O.S.S. The acronym was obvious enough, standing for “Blacked-Out Special Suzuki”, and that’s what the Suzuki C90T B.O.S.S. was. What was apparent was that Suzuki would not stop at just one B.O.S.S. model. Hence the announcement of three more B.O.S.S. models joining Suzuki’s lineup.

The obvious addition is the 2013 Suzuki C90 B.O.S.S., the cruiser version of the C90T. Stripped of the windshield and hard bags, the C90 is otherwise the same as the C90T B.O.S.S., with black wheels, forks, exhaust and a blackened 90-cubic-inch (1462cc) V-Twin engine.

Joining Suzuki’s lineup as a 2014 model is the Boulevard M109R B.O.S.S. Based on the M109R, the B.O.S.S. version adds black wheels, handlebars, mufflers, fork tubes, engine covers, brake calipers and other black components. The only thing straying from script is the Marble Daytona Yellow on the fender, headlight cowl, fuel tank, tail and wheel striping. Continue Reading »

SUZ after dark clip

Friday morning, May 24, Suzuki will be unveiling a few new models. Details beyond that are slim, but Suzuki has sent us a teaser rendering of one of the models, shown above. The image isn’t very large at all, but judging by the headlight shape, we’re guessing it’ll be part of the M line of cruisers.

Most would think a radial airplane engine is best left for airplanes. Frank Ohle is not one of those people. This mad fabricator from Germany found himself in possession of a Rotec Radial R3600 airplane engine and decided the best place for it was not in the sky, but in fact on the ground, in a motorcycle.

051313-2014-indian-chief-teaser

The storied Indian Motorcycles brand will enter a new era this August at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally with the debut of the 2014 Indian Chief. Powered by the  all-new Thunder Stroke 111 engine, the new Chief will be the first new Indian motorcycle introduced after the company was acquired by Polaris Industries in 2011.

To prepare for the launch, Polaris has released a new image and video of the new Chief, and announced it will be available in North American dealerships later this year with prices starting at $18,999.

The teaser images offer up some details, though nothing not entirely unexpected. We already knew about the Thunder Stroke 111 engine and the Indian head fender light has been a long-time feature on Indian motorcycles. We can also see the silhouette of the headlight with smaller, auxiliary driving lights. The studs on the rider and pillion seat stand out clearly in the teaser image, as does the long, straight exhaust pipe. Continue Reading »
