England’s Motorcycle News reports this morning that the 2013 World Superbike champ, who’s splitting with the Kawasaki camp after this season, will be riding a new, factory-backed BMW S1000RR in 2019. Shaun Muir Racing, out of the UK, will be abandoning Aprilia for a heavily revised new BMW, which MCN describes as more revolutionary than evolutionary. A shake-up at BMW corporate HQ seems to have resulted in a new interest in racing. Along with Ducati’s big push with its new V4 next season and possibly even some Honda involvement, maybe Jonathan Rea and Kawasaki won’t have it so easy again next year?
