MO Movie Preview: Howl Seat
Wild and wooly on the European continent
We’ve written about the Wheels and Waves rally in southern France a few times, and it’s on the short list of rallies we’d like to attend, thanks to its location and the quality of motorcycles reputed to appear during the festivities.
This trailer for the upcoming movie, Howl Seat- Crazy Motorcycle Road Trip from Ocean to Snow, gives a wild view of both the Wheels and Waves event itself and a group of riders who attend it. Produced by Lip Production, the film follows three riders in a self-described “crazy trip” through, according to their hashtags, France, Spain, and Italy. We don’t know much more about the movie other than what is shown here, but the protagonists look like our kind of people. Perhaps we should make them honorary MOrons.

Like most of the best happenings in his life, Evans stumbled into his motojournalism career. While on his way to a planned life in academia, he applied for a job at a motorcycle magazine, thinking he’d get the opportunity to write some freelance articles. Instead, he was offered a full-time job in which he discovered he could actually get paid to ride other people’s motorcycles – and he’s never looked back. Over the 25 years he’s been in the motorcycle industry, Evans has written two books, 101 Sportbike Performance Projects and How to Modify Your Metric Cruiser, and has ridden just about every production motorcycle manufactured. Evans has a deep love of motorcycles and believes they are a force for good in the world.

Looks beautiful and fun although I have to say "Howl Seat" isn't too inspiring and doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Poor translation from a popular French phrase maybe?
Looks like a remake (Euro style) of Cycles South (1971), which I saw two days ago and loved. Google it and watch; it's free. Best motorcycle road movie.
