If you’re on the east coast and looking for cool gear, cool people, and a cool ride, stop on in to Union Garage.

Begin press release:

We’re excited to announce the latest Union Garage Pop-Up extension—ADV NYC— which is launching this Saturday, 7/14. To compile the most complete, head-to-toe collection of Adventure gear in New York City we partnered up with three leaders in the segment—Klim, Kriega and Sidi.

We’re kicking it off with an all-day Saturday open house with complimentary iced coffee in the morning, and free lunch off the grill in the afternoon. We’ll run the event into August, but the selection will never be better than opening day—plus we’ll have reps from the participating brands on hand to answer all your pressing gear questions.

In 10 Days we are heading 200 miles north for an adventure in Vermont’s Green Mountain National Forest. And you’re invited.

Part of the adventure is just getting there. We’ll follow a 250-mile “suggested route” that cuts across country roads in Connecticut, goes over the highest point in Massachusetts, and will involve a mix of mostly paved secondary roads with a few dirt roads thrown in at the end.

We’ve put together a package that includes a campsite reservation, dinner Saturday night, breakfast Sunday morning, and a guided Sunday morning loop that’ll trace through some of the local area’s greatest hits. BYO Tent.

Knobby tires are recommended, but a full dual-sport is not absolutely necessary. A majority of the Sunday AM loop will be on paved or dirt roads, with a few optional unmaintained forest roads for good measure. After lunch Sunday, options are: 1) hit the road back to NYC to beat Sunday evening re-entry traffic, or 2) take the optional Sunday afternoon loop that goes after some more advanced trails. See the event registration page for more info.

Looking for more than a 36hr out-and-back? For the complete off-road Vermont experience, consider coming up a day early to rent a dirt bike and sign up for a full-day Saturday tour with Moto Vermont.

To exercise this option you’ll need to get to the campsite by Friday night. Then when the rest of us are still making our way up from NYC, you’ll be setting out Saturday morning in a small-group (max 8 riders) on a recon mission of the best roads and trails in the area. BYO street-legal dual sport or rent a bike from Moto Vermont.

See here for a photo essay of a 200-mile dirt trip we did with Moto Vermont last year, and check out our more recent Instagram story from a training ride with did with them in May. Moto Vermont is the best in the business – good times guaranteed! But this option has to be booked by the end of this week, so get planning.
