Round 3 – Endurocross – September 30, 2017

DENVER, Colo. – FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Cody Webb and Kacy Martinez both had winning nights at the third round of the AMA Endurocross Series, held in Denver, Colo. on Saturday. Webb dominated an exciting Super Endurocross main event to take the win and maintain his points lead in the class, while Martinez took the win in the Women’s class.

Cody Webb pulled the holeshot in the gate pickup race and stayed in control to take the win and transfer to the bracket race. He won both his first and second bracket races, and finished second in the final. He was second at the start of the main and made the pass for the lead in the rock pile shortly after the start. He started separating himself from the field, then headed into lapped traffic before executing the tricky no-joke lane perfectly. He was passed by Colton Haaker before the final lap, but got back in the lead on the final lap when Haaker took the no-joke lane. He held strong to take the win.

Webb: “I’m super excited to take the win and maintain my lead in points. I feel good, the bike is great, and I’m looking forward to the next race in Washington in a couple weeks.”

Women’s rider Kacy Martinez was second at the start of her race but got caught up in the firewood turn. She went to the back of the pack but started making her way through the field before making the pass for the lead with a few laps to go. She held strong to take the win.

Martinez: “Coming into this weekend I had two podium finishes and wanted to stay consistent but always my main goal is to win! I got off to a good start and held 2nd to the firewood turn. I got held up in there and quickly went from 2nd to 2nd to last. But knowing at endurocross that anything can happen I gave it my all and started picking off racers one by one. Got into the lead and held  a solid gap with a couple laps to go till the finish! I’m very happy to put it up on the top step of the box, I’ve been working very hard on and off the bike and so has the whole team!”
