Airfence to provide better protection for racers

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association is pleased to announce that Roadracing World Action Fund will provide soft barriers for the AMA Dirt Track Grand Championship, taking place in Du Quoin, Ill. at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds, July 1-4.

The air-filled barriers, which are owned by Roadracing World Action Fund and known by the trade name Airfence, will be in place along sections of the race course to protect riders.

“The AMA would like to thank John Ulrich and the Roadracing World Action Fund for providing soft barriers for the AMA Dirt Track Championship another year,” said AMA Track Racing Manager Ken Saillant. “We would also like to thank American Flat Track for assisting in the coordination of using Roadracing World Action Fund Airfence in this event.”

The Roadracing World Action Fund, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization with a mission to help reduce rider injuries, provides soft barriers deployed at road race and dirt-track events. The inflated barriers are positioned in front of walls and other trackside obstacles and reduce the force of impact.

The Roadracing World Action Fund was founded in 2001 and relies on charitable donations to deploy soft barriers at sanctioned events nationwide. To donate, or for more information about the charity, see www.actionfund.roadracingworld.com.
