EVENT DETAILS

Calling all wrench botherers, amateur tinkerers and fettling fetishists. The institution that has come to be known as the world’s greatest celebration of two wheeled ingenuity is back again in 2016. Around the globe over the weekend of the 24th of September the champions of creativity will parade solutions to problems you didn’t even know existed in the Deus Bike Build Off.

This year’s festival of fettlers will be bigger than ever with the inclusion of new specialist categories in addition to the existing open class – A professional division, an amateur race bike category and Postie/Honda Cub/under 125cc category.

All these divisions will be judged and guided by the universal BBO rules by the usual stella cast of motorcyclism maestros on the day as well as the voice of the people with a choice award for the Pro and Race categories.

Once all the global winners have been confirmed they will be posted to the global peoples choice voting site to decide the overall Global Winner (to be announced at this years EICMA in November).

So dust off the Whitworths, set your auto bid on those donor bikes and watch this site and Deus channels for updates. Once you have registered you will be kept informed via email.

THE RULES

Make the most with the least.

The entry must run (ie. kick over and idle) and must be rideable.

Display a level of creativity and ingenuity in design/function or construction.

JUDGING

A panel of 5 esteemed judges from their respective countries will assess the entries based on how well they have met the defined rules/criteria. On the day, stage one judging will narrow the entry field to 30 bikes that will go into the main round of judging. From here the field will be further shortened to just the top 10 bikes. Out the of this group the judges will award the First, Second and Third place regional winners on the day. A People’s Choice Award will also be given out, which will be chosen by the punters!

The event is open to any and all. Although until this year we have kept it at an amateur level, not open to a bike building business or professional individual.
This year we’ll be changing it up to be more inclusive across 4 categories;
