Honda has released a video teasing its upcoming adventure-scooter. Based on the City Adventure concept presented last fall at EICMA, the scooter is expected to launch as a 2017 model under the name “X-ADV.”

We’ve already seen a prototype in action undergoing testing that, despite the camouflage, looked fairly similar to the original concept. The teaser video shows the scooter in action both in urban environments as well as on dirt roads.

The brief glimpses of the scooter that we could make out from the teaser video also appear to be a match, including the upswept exhaust, wire-spoke wheels, swingarm design, hand guards and tall windscreen that suggest some off-road capability. We can also make out dual front disc brakes which in itself is unusual for a scooter.

Though we can hear the engine, the video doesn’t show its configuration. From our previous looks at the prototype and concept, it appears the X-ADV will be powered by Honda’s NC750 engine, which would also suggest a dual clutch transmission.

The video ends teasingly promising more information on Aug. 30. Check back here on Motorcycle.com for more details as they emerge.
