Press Release: Ontario’s famed city of Toronto and its women riders will celebrate the tenth International Female Ride Day on Saturday, May 7. The globally synchronized event highlights and promotes women motorcycle enthusiasts around the world. Toronto’s local and regional women riders will include themselves in the International “Just Ride!” day. The event kicked off in Toronto in 2007 creating an unstoppable momentum which now a decade later continues to be a worldwide “movement” for women riders.
Flagged for the first Saturday of May each year, International Female Ride Day is a globally synchronized day celebrated by women across all international cultures. It’s a day which asks women to simply get out there, be on their motorcycles and “Just Ride!” © The event unifies the camaraderie and diversity of women who enjoy motorcycling, across all its disciplines – road, dirt, and track; throughout all brands and styles. On this day, women come together through motorcycling for group rides, events, with fundraisers, weekend getaways or simply a solo ride in their area.
Since its Canadian inception in 2007, the campaign exploded to instant success while striking a unified chord with women riders not only across Canada, but the United States and Europe. Ten years later women riders join in from all Canadian provinces as well as the United States; as far North as Anchorage Alaska, overseas to Germany, down under to Australia – India, Brazil and South Africa – to name a few. Women ride in synchronicity to demonstrate shared passions and their unique cultures. The Toronto tenth edition of International Female Ride Day will kick off with a city meetup at Toronto City Hall followed by a short ride through the city and then a wrap up at Lakeshore and Leslie Boston Pizza. Rain or shine, numbers, of women are expected and all women riders are welcome.
