To celebrate the company’s 90th anniversary, Ducati will conduct an Olympic-style torch relay, traveling nearly 20,000 miles around the world. Ducati will select seven riders to carry a specially-designed torch representing the “flames of passion” that propelled the company over the years.

The world tour will be divided into seven stages, with seven relay riders carrying the torch on new Multistrada 1200 Enduros. The tour will start on July 4, the exact date of the company’s birth, with a celebration at Ducati’s factory in Borno Panigale, Italy.

From there, the tour will travel across Europe before taking the Trans-Siberian Highway through Russia, Mongolia and China. After a stop in Japan, the tour will continue with a tour across the U.S. before returning to Europe. The tour is expected to end Dec. 5 back in Borno Panigale.

The seven riders will be chosen from among the many Ducati fans around the world. Ducati says it has already begun the selection process.

Ducati has a number of other events planned for its 90th anniversary. World Ducati Week 2016 will be the highlight, taking place July 1-3 at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. The Ducati Museum is also undergoing a complete renovation, adding a larger exhibition area and full digitization of available information. The museum is slated to reopen for World Ducati Week.
