We’re down with Yamaha’s 60th Anniversary celebrating, since they invited us to the party!
PRESS RELEASE!
Cypress, CA – April 8, 2016 – Round 13 of the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Championship is this weekend at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN, and the Yamaha bLU cRU YZ250F and YZ450F machines will take on a decidedly different hue as they switch to the famous yellow-and-black for the event.
Commenting on the tribute, Keith McCarty, Motorsports Racing Division Manager for Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., said, “Our YZ250F, YZ450F, along with some of our other consumer models–in Yamaha 60th Anniversary yellow-and-black–are in Yamaha dealerships and available for sale now, so the timing for this throwback tribute is perfect. Last year at Unadilla, many of our motocross riders and teams ran the yellow-and-black livery for Yamaha’s 60th Anniversary. The Indy Supercross is one of the most well-attended events on the schedule, so we’re excited to be part of this ‘retro weekend’ in the Hoosier State!”
Six bLU cRU riders and four Yamaha teams will participate in the retro celebration, including Monster Energy/360fly/Chaparral/Yamaha Factory Racing’s Chad Reed, Yamalube/Star Racing riders Jeremy Martin and Aaron Plessinger, Autotrader/Monster Energy/Yamaha riders Justin Barcia and Weston Peick, and CycleTrader/Rock River/Yamaha’s Luke Renzland.
