From a Talking Motorcycles with Barry Boone press release.
This is a special chance for you to relive an incredible show that originally aired LIVE from Bahama Breeze across from Daytona International Speedway during the 75th Daytona Bike Week.
Three generations of Daytona 200 winners joined us on this show, which was heard LIVE by tens of thousands of listeners on WNDB 1150 AM and 93.5 FM in the Daytona Beach area. Thousands more heard it around the world on the WNDB app.
Without a doubt, we made history in this epic “Night before the 200 Show.”
Five-time Daytona 200 winner, Mr. Daytona, Scott Russell joined us and remained onboard for our Q&A with Danny Eslick and Dick Klamfoth.
Eslick went on the record about his arrest in Daytona Beach and being denied the opportunity to try to win his third consecutive Daytona 200. His comments were straight forward and insightful.
Klamfoth won the 200 in 1949, 1951 and 1952 on the sands of Daytona Beach. His description of a lap on the beach was truly amazing.
Russell asked great questions of both Eslick and Klamfoth. He also told a story that you likely have never heard before about being arrested in 1997, the night before he won the Daytona 200 himself!
The show was also special because it was the first time Klamfoth and Russell had met! The joy was palpable, along with the respect between these two great championship riders. Russell remained on board to co-host the entire show.
