“Crafted by the motorsport lifestyle community,” is the tagline Spidi uses to describe its Firebird jacket in one of its promotional videos. Aimed at those who wish to imitate Tom Cruise aboard his Kawasaki in Top Gun, the Firebird is inspired by aviator jackets but with protection specifically for the motorcycle rider.

Spidi says the jacket is constructed with 0.9mm Nubuck leather with Tenax Flex joints on the arms and leather accordion panels on the sides. Impact protection is provided by EN1621-1 certified Multitech protectors in the shoulders and EN1621-1 certified Forcetech protectors on the elbows. Comfort features include three outside pockets, a removable thermal jacket liner, and a sheepskin collar.

Available in sizes 46-58, the Spidi Firebird retails for $599.90. View the videos below for more details, or visit the Spidi website.

Troy's been riding motorcycles and writing about them since 2006, getting his start at Rider Magazine. From there, he moved to Sport Rider Magazine before finally landing at Motorcycle.com in 2011. A lifelong gearhead who didn't fully immerse himself in motorcycles until his teenage years, Troy's interests have always been in technology, performance, and going fast. Naturally, racing was the perfect avenue to combine all three. Troy has been racing nearly as long as he's been riding and has competed at the AMA national level. He's also won multiple club races throughout the country, culminating in a Utah Sport Bike Association championship in 2011. He has been invited as a guest instructor for the Yamaha Champions Riding School, and when he's not out riding, he's either wrenching on bikes or watching MotoGP.
