Ducati announced a 22% increase in motorcycle sales over the first half of 2015, thanks in large part to the new Scrambler. Through the first six months of 2015, Ducati has sold a record 32,600 motorcycles, up nearly 6,000 units compared to same period in 2014. The first half was buoyed by a strong June that saw 7,400 Ducatis sold, a 60% increase over June 2014.

The new Scrambler line led the way with more than 9,000 units sold, followed by the Multistrada 1200 (4,700 units), Monster 821 (3,700 units) and the Panigale (over 3,000 units).

“This record-breaking performance by Ducati in the first half of 2015,” says Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, “stems from the incredible efforts made over the last two years. Products like the Scrambler, Multistrada and 1299 Panigale reflect the extraordinary talent of workers who, day after day, dedicate themselves to making customers’ dreams come true. This exceptional growth is the result of teamwork, an ability to handle the complexity of selling in over 90 countries and running 11 branches and 3 production plants. That makes me incredibly proud. A big helping hand has, of course, come from the Ducati Corse racing division, of which our customers are the biggest fans.”

The U.S. remains Ducati’s biggest market, with American sales increasing by 10% over last year (Ducati did not provide more specific numbers except to note a North American sales record of more than 1,900 units in June alone). Ducati reported stronger growth in European markets. Sales in Italy saw the largest increase at +51% followed by Spain (+38%), the U.K. (+36%), Germany (+24%) and France (+23%).
