Former World Superbike Champion Troy Bayliss suffered a serious crash during a semi-final race for the Sacramento Mile. Bayliss was competing in his second AMA Flat Track race on a Lloyd Brothers Ducati racebike when he crashed into the air fence on Turn 3, suffering a fractured fibula.

Though no doubt disappointed, Bayliss seemed to be in positive spirit, tweeting updates even from the ambulance:

Well this was not in the plan , not sure what it is but foot was pointing wrong way , grabbed in air fence 👍😎 pic.twitter.com/syq7VWU9Qm
