Ducati reported a record of 7,309 motorcycles sold in April, the highest monthly sales total in company history, shattering the old mark of 6,500 motorcycles sold in May 2012.

April sales were up 29% compared to last year, also helping Ducati set a new record quarter of 17,881 motorcycles sold so far in 2015.

According to Ducati, the sales increase stems from strong demand for its Scrambler, 1299 Panigale and Multistrada 1200. The Scrambler has been particularly successful in Italy where it was the third highest-selling motorcycle behind the BMW R1200GS and Yamaha MT-09 Tracer (a.k.a. FJ-09). The Scrambler helped Ducati record a 69% sales increase in its home market.

Ducati also saw strong sales increases in other European markets, claiming a 52% growth in Germany, 54% growth in Spain, 50% growth in the U.K. and 13% growth in France. Ducati’s sales record is especially impressive considering its largest market, the U.S., isn’t due to receive the new range of 2015 models into sometime in the next week.
