Following in the footsteps of the successful LiveWire Experience US tour, Harley-Davidson is taking the event global so that interested riders worldwide can have a chance to influence the path of Project LiveWire. Select consumers in Asia, Europe, and Canada (in addition to the United States) will have the unique opportunity to ride and comment on the progress of the electric motorcycle.

Harley-Davidson LiveWire First Ride

Starting this week with events from February 25 to March 4 at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit, media and invitation-only consumers at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit will ride the provide their feedback to help guide the motorcycle’s further development. The tour will then move on to locations in events in eight countries on three continents. Additionally, European riders will have the chance to enter to be “one of the first 1,000 people to ride Project LiveWire at one of five locations in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands from May to August.” US riders won’t be left out since a 13-stop tour will visit select Harely-Davidson dealers and rider events throughout the United States and Canada.

“Project LiveWire has reset expectations about what a Harley-Davidson motorcycle can be,” said Harley-Davidson Chief Marketing Officer Mark-Hans Richer. “The first phase of the Project LiveWire Experience tour provided valuable feedback about the features and experience riders expect from an electric Harley-Davidson motorcycle. This year we’re expanding that experience to a global audience to gain even deeper insights from riders to help us shape the future direction of this exciting technology.”

Discuss this at our Harley-Davidson LiveWire Forum.

“We are led by what our customers tell us matters most,” said Richer. “Because electric vehicle technology is evolving rapidly, we are excited to learn more from riders through the Project LiveWire Experience to fully understand the definition of success in this market as the technology continues to evolve.”

Like most of the best happenings in his life, Evans stumbled into his motojournalism career. While on his way to a planned life in academia, he applied for a job at a motorcycle magazine, thinking he’d get the opportunity to write some freelance articles. Instead, he was offered a full-time job in which he discovered he could actually get paid to ride other people’s motorcycles – and he’s never looked back. Over the 25 years he’s been in the motorcycle industry, Evans has written two books, 101 Sportbike Performance Projects and How to Modify Your Metric Cruiser, and has ridden just about every production motorcycle manufactured. Evans has a deep love of motorcycles and believes they are a force for good in the world.
