On Saturday January 24, 2015, some lucky rock and roll loving motorcyclist earned the opportunity to call Jerry Lee Lewis1959 Harley-Davidson FLH Duo Glide their own. All it took was $350,000 at the Mecum Kissimmee Auction at Osceola Heritage Park in Florida. Once the reserve was met, the standing-room only crowd was treated to a grand piano performance by Lewis himself. What the owner received for the third of a million dollars was an immaculate Duo Glide that Harley Davidson gave to Jerry Lee Lewis in 1959. This single owner motorcycle only has 2257 miles on the clock 55 years later.

Take a gander at the auction and Jerry Lee Lewis’ performance here:

While on his way to a planned life in academia, he applied for a job at a motorcycle magazine, thinking he’d get the opportunity to write some freelance articles. Instead, he was offered a full-time job in which he discovered he could actually get paid to ride other people’s motorcycles – and he’s never looked back. Over the 25 years he’s been in the motorcycle industry, Evans has written two books, 101 Sportbike Performance Projects and How to Modify Your Metric Cruiser, and has ridden just about every production motorcycle manufactured. Evans has a deep love of motorcycles and believes they are a force for good in the world.
