Alongside the newly-revealed Dragster 800 RR comes a similar RR version of the MV Agusta Brutale 800. Like its Dragster cousin, the 2015 MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR receives an updated engine with its maximum horsepower increased to 138 hp at 13,100 rpm and torque bumped up to 63.4 ft-lb. at 10,100 rpm.

The performance update was achieved through a redesigned airbox and a second fuel injector for each of the three cylinders on the 798cc engine. MV Agusta also updated the internal shape of the fuel tank, leaving it looking identical from the outside to the non-RR model’s tank while maintaining its 4.4-gallon fuel capacity.

MV Agusta also added a new hydraulic chain tensioner to reduce engine noise while improving reliability. The counter-rotating crankshaft and removable six-speed transmission remain the same.

The second-iteration of MV Agusta’s Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System offers ride-by-wire throttle control and three ride modes (Sport, Normal and Rain) as well as a customizable fourth mode giving riders the freedom to adjust engine response, rev limiter, engine torque response, throttle sensitivity and engine braking.

The electronically-assisted quickshifter has also been refined. Combined with the slipper clutch, the Brutale 800RR allows for clutchless upshifting and downshifting.

The Brutale 800RR also comes with a traction control system with eight levels of sensitivity (nine if you include “off”).

The frame remains unchanged from the regular Brutale 800, consisting of a steel tube trellis and two aluminum alloy plates. The RR’s fully-adjustable 43mm Marzocchi upside-down forks received a diamond-like carbon coating and is lighter than those on previous Brutales. Sachs provides the rear shock with adjustable rebound and compression damping and spring preload. Both the front and rear suspension systems offer 4.92 inches of travel.

Like the Dragster RR, the Brutale RR uses twin front brake discs gripped by radial-mount four-piston Brembo calipers. Brembo also supplies the two-piston calipers gripping the 220mm rear disc. The Brutale RR also comes standard with the Bosch 9 Plus anti-lock brake system with rear wheel lift mitigation.

Other features include a 370.4-pound (claimed) dry weight, reshaped seat, LED taillight and a steering damper by CRC.

MV Agusta is producing two color options: Pearl Shock Red and Pearl Ice White with a black trellis frame or Metallic Avio Grey and Carbon Metallic Black with a red frame.

U.S. pricing and availability have not been announced but in Europe, the 2015 MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR is priced at €13,980 (US$17,804).
