Race Engine Technology magazine has nominated Lightning Motorcycles and MotoCzysz as contestants in the publication’s Race Engine of the Year awards. Lightning and MotoCzysz will compete in the Alternative Power category against Drayson Lola land speed record battery electric powertrain.

Nominations are made by the Race Engine Technology’s editorial team based on close observation of all forms of professional racing worldwide. The judging panel is comprised of 50+ race engine engineers, all of whom are practicing professionals in the world of race engine design and development.

Lightning made history this year at the 91st Pikes Peak International Hill Climb by winning against some the world’s best ICE-powered motorcycles, beating them to the top of the mountain by a margin of more than 20 seconds.
