2013 AIMExpo: SaferMoto Airbag-Equipped Vests and Jackets – Video
One of the more intriguing booths we visited at the American International Motorcycle Expo in Orlando, Fla. was SaferMoto’s. This company distributes a variety of airbag-equipped vests and jackets for motorcyclists.
SaferMoto tells us that motorcycle police in Japan, Germany and France all wear these vest and jackets, produced by a Japanese manufacturer called Hit-Air. In fact, equestrian athletes from 18 countries wore these products at the 2012 London Olympics.
Designed to protect your neck, back and ribs in the event of an accident, SaferMoto says the airbags in the vests and jackets deploy within 0.25 seconds of being ejected from a motorcycle. As well, replacement CO2 cartridges are available at a minimal cost.
