Hero Motocorp has updated its Karizma ZMR and Karizma R for 2014, the first products from the Indian manufacturer developed with Erik Buell Racing. The two companies signed a development deal last February before the relationship deepened with Hero buying 49.2% of EBR a few months later.

The fully-faired Karizma ZMR and the partially-faired R version were revealed at an event last week in Macau. Technical details were not released, so it’s not clear if the engine is new or an update to the previous Karizma models’ 223cc engine. In either case, it’s believed EBR tuned the engine, giving it a performance boost over the previous powerplant.

The Karizma ZMR also gets a new headlight, redesigned fairing, split seats, grab handles, exhaust, a larger windscreen and a new 110mm rear tire replacing the previous 100mm tire. The Karizma R received similar changes and a new fairing design that exposes more of the engine.
