Zero Mobile App Can Adjust Motorcycle’s Performance
Zero Motorcycles has released a new mobile phone app that can be used to adjust a motorcycle’s performance.
Available for Apple iOS and Android, the Zero Motorcycles App is compatible with all 2013 models as well as any future models. The app allows riders to connect their Zero motorcycles to their smartphones via Bluetooth, turning the phone into a dashboard displaying live data including speed, motor torque, battery charge level, estimated range and motor temperature.
Perhaps the most interesting feature however is the ability to adjust the performance characteristics of a motorcycle. Users can adjust a Zero motorcycle’s top speed, torque and regenerative braking levels to optimize battery life.
As a dashboard, the app is fully customizable, allowing users to select from a number of statistical data and how to display them. The app can also track the cost of electricity use and provide an estimate of the cost of gas for the equivalent amount of riding using an internal combustion engined motorcycle of similar performance.
“The Zero Motorcycles app marks the first time in history that a production motorcycle’s top speed, torque and regenerative braking can be easily adjusted by an owner in seconds. Not only is it fun, it also results in a riding experience that is truly customized to meet the unique needs of every individual,” says Scot Harden, vice president of marketing for Zero Motorcycles. “We encourage interested fans to download the app, play with it in Demo Mode and then schedule a test ride with their local dealer so that they can truly appreciate the Zero Motorcycles experience.”
