Chinese Piaggio MP3 Knockoff Seized From EICMA Floor for Copyright Infringement

Here’s an EICMA highlight for you, readers. Italian police officers seized a Chinese-made scooter from the showroom floor for copyright infringement.

Authorities seized the three-wheeled Yiben YB 250 ZKT under grounds of copyright infringement and falsification because it too closely resembled a Piaggio MP3.

Though the seized Yiben YB 250 ZKT pictured above is partially covered by a tarp, we can clearly see two wheels at the front, just like the Piaggio MP3, and a similar looking grille.

Yiben is part of the Taizhou City Kaitong Motorcycle Manufacture company, claiming “a good reputation with clients both at home and abroad for their reliable quality, innovative designs, and reasonable prices” on its official website.

The website also has a page in its “About Us” section labeled “Honor”. That section is blank.
