The Hong Kong government is replacing its entire gasoline-powered motorcycle fleet including police motorcycles with electric-powered Brammo motorcycles.

The Hong Kong Police Force will use the law enforcement version of the 2012 Brammo Enertia Plus. Engineers from Hong Kong’s Water Supplies Department will also use the civilian version of the Brammo Enertia Plus to travel to service locations around the Chinese city-state.

“This is a significant milestone in the adoption of electric vehicles by governments,” says Craig Bramscher, founder and chief executive officer of Brammo Inc. “As the world’s leading manufacturer of electric motorcycles, we were confident that we would lead this change and we are delighted that we have started here in Hong Kong with some of the most EV-engaged leaders in the world.”

The fleet motorcycles will be prepared by Brammo’s Hong Kong exclusive dealer JCAM, the electric vehicle distributor founded by action star Jackie Chan.
