TLC’s American Chopper will be featuring Sarah Palin airing tonight at 9pm.  The Orange County Choppers crew has decided to dedicate tonight’s show to celebrate the 50-year anniversary since Alaska became a state by building a custom chopper to honor the special occasion.

Paul Teutul Sr. claims he was initially nervous before the interview but felt Palin was “a real down to earth person to talk to”. Maybe so but I would be careful not to offend her with that bear claw laying right beside her, grrr!

International Female Ride Day Is May 1st

A spotlight on women motorcyclists everywhere

International Female Ride Day is May 1 and organizers are seeing a groundswell of participation with more women riders and more countries participating than expected. Women motorcycle clubs from all over the United States and Canada are getting together to ride and show their support for women motorcyclists. The “female ride day” fever is spreading all over the world as women riders events are now planned in Israel, Australia, France, Poland, and Italy.

-Women Riders Now

Wow!  It’s great to see International Female Ride Day taking over the globe tomorrow.  You can see the long list of women’s motorcycle clubs here.

International Female Ride Day was started up by Vicki Gray to build awareness of female riders everywhere.  To participate, just simply ride your motorcycle that day.  Take a picture of yourself and send it in to Motoress.

The event shines a spotlight on women motorcyclists—it’s a day for women, of women, everywhere. A day emphasizing the many numbers of female’s who ride motorcycles; supporting their diversities, ageless, limitless abilities and the enjoyment embraced for the activity.

So women riders everywhere, get out there tomorrow and ride!

Ducati Hypermotard Help Destory Mankind [Video]

Ducati posts a video, tooting their own horn

Did you know those killer motorcycles in the new Terminator Salvation movie (out on May 21, 2009) are Ducati Hypermotard bikes?  I guess the Ducati designers around the time of judgment day decided they should go for a more scary and human-destroying look.

Or the Italian Ducati designers were killed by Italian terminators, and then the machines took over designing the new bike…  I don’t think I’m a fan of their creative concept.

Ducati Motor Holding have just uploaded a video on Youtube tooting their own horns, proud that these life destroying vehicles are really Ducati’s at heart.

Hit the jump for their video and a few pics.

Xcite Bike

One way to get noticed

At first look, I couldn’t figure out how exactly this contraption worked but after doing some research it looks like you ride it like a skateboard and control speed, braking and direction with the long pole that’s attached.

The Xcite Bike can go up to 28mph with its 49cc engine, weighs in at 265lbs, comes with a 30 day warranty and costs $999, ouch! Is it exciting? Well, that’s up to the individual I guess but it does come in some exciting colors.

Harley Skateboard Trick – Awesome Motorcycle Jump

Everything needs to be jumped over on a skateboard

Everything needs to be jumped over with a skateboard at some point in human history.  People, benches, cars, cats, senior citizens, conclusions, ships, …. I’m getting a little metaphorical here…  Why not motorcycles?  Let’s jump some motorcycles on a skateboard and let’s make them Harley-Davidson motorcycles to boot.

Harley is on fire with releasing “viral video” to promote their Dark Custom line and have now released this interesting video of a “modded” skateboard with fireworks strapped to it flying over some bikes.  Personally, I think it  looks like the guy is hanging from a wire when he crosses over those bikes.

Fake? Real? What do you think?

Rocking Choppers

Motorcycle training for kids

After moving from L.A. to Salt Lake City, Doug Premo, a general contractor, found that there just wasn’t much construction opportunity in Utah so he decided to change his career and start making wood toys after being inspired by the Orange County Choppers TV show.

The handmade rocking motorcycles range from $350-$450 and can be purchased though his etsy.com page. Premo also makes dump trucks, cement trucks, lumber trucks, airplanes, cars and dinosaurs that are all made of pine. Check out the video.
